My primary teaching areas are Chinese philosophy, value theory, and moral psychology.
My teaching is guided by the belief that philosophy should be both rigorous and alive. In my classes, I emphasize on close reading, patient interpretation, and the value of wrestling together with difficult questions. I want the students to encounter philosophical texts not as distant historical artifacts, but as living voices that can challenge, unsettle, and illuminate their own ways of thinking and living.Â
I am the recipient of the City University of New York Teaching Excellence Award in 2026.
